Loft Orbital's mission is to make space simple for organizations to collect information about the Earth. We provide space infrastructure and operation as a service for whatever size mission a client needs - whether that's a constellation, a single satellite, or even flying multiple customer payloads on a single satellite.

As a Senior Frontend Engineer at Loft Orbital, you will work on a range of projects, including refining the UI of Cockpit, our satellite operations software empowering end-users with powerful satellite management capabilities. Youll collaborate with peers on the Frontend Engineering team, as well as interface with the wider Ground Software team.

• Building and refining tools for satellite operations and autopilot observability
• Developing and maintaining our web applications and services
• Collaborating on UI/UX design to enhance user experience (no need to be a designer, just care about good UX)
• Integrating with backend services using GraphQL APIs
• Supporting internal teams in using our ground software (Cockpit)
• Getting hands-on with satellite operations everyone at Loft plays a role in mission success!

Tech stack:

• Frontend: Vue.js , TypeScript, HTML, CSS
• APIs: GraphQL
• Bonus: Web Components

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript / HTML / CSS
• Experience with Vue or React
• Experience working on SPAs
• Experience with GraphQL APIs
• Experience with Testing (Unit and integration testing (e.g., Vitest, Jest, Cypress)

• Experience with Web Components
• Experience with Mapping/Geospatial Libraries e.g., Leaflet, Mapbox, or CesiumJS (could be useful for visualizing satellite data)
• Interest in Space or Aerospace No prior experience is required, but enthusiasm for space technology is a bonus!
• UI/UX sensibility (no need to be a designer, just to care about that)

Who We Are

Loft Orbital builds shareable satellites, providing a fast & simple path to orbit for organizations that require access to space. Powered by our hardware & software products, we operate satellites, fly customer payloads onboard, and handle entire missions from end to end - significantly reducing the lead-time and risk of a traditional space mission.

Our standard interface enables us to fly multiple customer payloads on the same satellite, with capabilities such as earth imagery, weather & climate /science data collection, IoT connectivity, in-orbit demonstrations, and national security missions.
